An exclusive collection of different Gingers (Zingiberales). Varities collected from various parts of India and abroad. This includes exotic as well as indigenous group of plants belonging to the families of Musaceae, Marantaceae, Zingiberaceae, Cannaceae, Heliconiaceae etc. These include plants belonging to various threat categories. The wild relatives of economically important genera such as Alpinia, Amomum, Curcuma, Elettaria, Hedychium, Boesenbergia, Musa, Canna, Maranta, Zingiber, etc. A good number of potential and exotic ornamentals are also grown. Most of the Gingers are economically important as foods, medicines, spices and ornamentals (Bananas, Gingers, and prayer plants).
